General Entry Rules

1. Upon registration, you will receive a confirmation email. This email will contain a link with an entry submission form. You must complete the submission form for EACH ENTRY by Sunday 03 March, 2024.

2. Individuals can enter as many categories as they qualify for, as they please

3. You may enter a category more than once

4. Submissions require a maximum of six (6) images, (see below for a breakdown of each image required, relevant to your category)

5. Images submitted MUST be of your own work (any entries found to be fraudulent will be void)

6. Ensure good lighting is used so that images are clear & visible

7. Only high quality, CLEAR images will be accepted (any entries with blurry images where the work cannot be viewed will be void)

8. No retouching or editing of the pictures, watermarks or logos in the background will be accepted

9. Images used for competition entries cannot have been used for any marketing, published in advertisements, magazines or posted on social media. After the competition has ended & winners are announced entrants may share their images as they please

The 'Locks Lash' Lash Salon of The Year Award​

This award recognises an outstanding lash and/or brow salon. Whether you are a home salon or a store front salon & doing (or have done) something outstanding, we want to know about it! Renovated your salon? Have incredible branding? Grew so quickly that you needed to move locations & hire a number of staff? Maybe you are shaking up the lash & brow industry... or just have an kick ar*e salon; we want to know about it!

To enter this category you must submit answers to the following questions:

1. Your salon name & location

2. Are you a home salon or store front salon?

3. Why are you entering the 'Locks Lash' Salon of The Year Category? (examples: outstanding renovation, trained & employed 10 people in the local community, all staff at the salon volunteer at a charity weekly)

4. 250-550 word detailed entry on the above to complement your entry

5. Include a maximum of six (6) images to complement your entry.

This award acknowledges an outstanding lash artist. Whether you're a lash artist with three months experience, or a lash artist with 10+ years experience & feel like you're nailing it - we want to know.   are a home salon or a store front salon & doing (or have done) something outstanding, we want to know about it! Renovated your salon? Grew so quickly that you needed to move locations & hire a number of staff? Maybe you are shaking up the lash & brow industry... or just have an kick ar*e salon; we want to know about it!

To enter this category you must submit answers to the following questions:

1. Your salon name & location

2. Are you a home salon or store front salon?

3. 250-550 words on why you should be crowned the 'Locks Lash' Lash Artist of The Year

4. Include a maximum of six (6) images to compliment your entry.

Image Submission Requirements (category segments)

Below you will find the images you are required to submit as part of your entry, based on the category or categories you are entering. Refer to image category for the number of images to be submitted & images required. It's important that you follow these submission guidelines as outlined below.

Lash Extension Category Segment - Images to be submitted

1. *before with eyes closed from where you sit as the technician with gel pads applied to view the condition of the natural lashes*

2. *before with eyes open from the front to see the shape and full face*

3. *after with eyes closed from where you sit as the technician with or without gel pads*

4. *after with eyes open looking straight into the camera, with the whole face in view to see symmetry of the eyelashes and shape chosen*

5. *one close up picture of one eye to see how the lashes are applied*

6. *one picture of your choice to impress the judges*

 

Lash Lift Category Segment

1. *before with eyes closed from where you sit as the technician with gel pads applied to view the condition of the natural lashes*

2. *before with eyes open from the front to see the shape and full face*

3. *after with eyes open looking straight picture of the whole face to see the smoothness of the lift, curl and direction*

4. *after from the side to see the lifting angle and the curl on the lashes*

5. *after close up picture of the lashes showing the lashes*

6. *one picture after of your choice to impress the judges*

 

Brow Category Segment

1. *one picture before full treatment*

2. *one picture during procedure (either step of the procedure or during tinting)*

3. *one picture of both brows after with the full face*

4. *two pictures of each brow after*

5. *one picture after treatment of your choice to impress the judges*

 

JUDGING CRITERTIA

1. Your work will be judged by our selected panel of judges based on the criteria of each category above 

2. Judges are looking for skill, technique and creativity where relevant. Each judge has been selected based on their high level of professional experience,  industry experience and/or creative/outside perspective

3. Judges will judge their categories individually & submit them without consulting with other panel judges
